But such as I have give I thee…

Throughout the scriptures there are instances of people asking for certain things. These requests are usually things people want because they think they know what’s best for themselves. Over and over again God does not give them exactly what they want in the moment they ask for it. But what God does give them is what they actually need.

In the book of Acts chapter 3, there is “a certain man lame from his mother’s womb” who sat at the gate of the temple and asked for alms (money). Along came Peter and John and did not give the lame man money, but instead said, “Silver and gold have I none: but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

The man then stood up and walked! What a gift more than money. He can now look at life in a whole new way because of this gift and his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we think we know what is best for us and what we need to succeed, be happy, or make it through the day, make sure to ask God. He will bless you and give you what you really need. God actively looks and knows His children. He knows their strugels and the desires of our hearts. He wants to bless us in life so we can reach our celestial potential and live with him.

I know that God lives and loves us. There is a prophet on the Earth today and he leads and guides God’s chruch through his spirit. I know just as Peter healed the lame man by a miracle, there are miracles today all around us.
